We thought this was a great way for friends and family to see updates of our lives and the going-ons. J.J. and I have been loving baby Sofia to pieces since she arrived July 24, 2007. She weighed in at 8 pounds and at her 2 month check up, she was 13 pounds and 6-1/2 ounces. That is very "healthy!" She began cooing at 4-1/2 weeks and smiling soon after. Sofia loves face time with people and loves to talk! She will tell you all about her day and some great stories with lots of expression and zest! Sometimes she adds in the "oooh!" with big eyes and flared nostrils! Sofia is a great baby. She doesn't complain about much, except naps. She is a champion nap fighter. She doesn't want to miss anything. (This is because mom is so exciting and fun.)
We are gearing up for Halloween! Last year, we had over 225 trick-or-treaters. Most are adorably costumed, minus the 18-year-olds in street clothes. We've even had grown adults (in no costume) trick-or-treat as well! =/ Our neighborhood draws in lots of kids and it's quite a fun and lively night!

On a sad note, on October 15th in the morning, Pooch passed away at the age of 13. I took the dogs, Pooch and Murphy, and Sofia out for a stroll and we ran into a neighbor friend and stopped to chat. Pooch was just vigorously rolling on her back in the grass and mulch and loving life. We stepped inside for not too long and soon after we came out, I found Pooch in the neighbor's backyard lying on her side. I wondered at first why she was napping in such a weird place, but then it hit me that something was wrong. Then I saw the neighbor's wolf-mix dog sitting right behind her looking at me. It was a very rough sight. It has been incredibly hard for me and J.J. I am so guilt-ridden on so many levels...of leaving her alone and not watching her, of her being impatient with her since the baby arrived and not treating her like I used to. She had congestive heart failure and had it rough several years ago, but remarkably, her health began improving in the past couple of years. She was running around, barking and playing like such a happy dog. This is not the way we thought she would go. It goes to show that you never know when you might lose a loved pet and to love them as much as possible while they are around. She didn't appear to have any bite marks, but lay there with blood coming out of her mouth. We think she went pretty quickly, at least. I've had Pooch since I was a junior in high school. She's been SO incredibly loyal to me. I can never deny that. I guess that's her breed and temperament...not so friendly and open to others, but deeply to me. I loved her for that. She was very smart, almost in a scary way, and understood Korean and English. Sorry for such a sad note. It happened just this morning, so I'm still in shock and grieving. I thank my neighbors Ashley and Amanda for helping me. Thanks for listening.
Check back in with us and see pictures as well! Have a great day, folks!
