My friend Charlotte came to visit!

This is my friend Charlotte. She lives in Bend, Oregon but she was on her way to Red Lodge, Montana to see her grandparents and she stopped by for the weekend. Her dad is Big Face Tom and Elise is her mom. Charlotte also brought her two dogs Belle and Tess. They were a lot of fun too!
I was SO excited to see Charlotte! I talked about seeing Charlotte for two weeks straight. I couldn't wait!

Here we are playing in the den. It was so nice to have a friend stay.

We made a gingerbread house. We sampled the candy as we were putting them onto the house.
Now do you see why Mr. Tom is called Big Face Tom? When Mr. Tom told me that they were getting ready to leave in the morning, I lost it and cried. I wanted to go with them, but I am looking forward to seeing them again all soon. Happy Holidays!

December Fun!

Happy Holidays! We have been busy baking, cooking, and enjoying the Winter weather!
At my cooperative preschool, I made a Santa hat that I put on for the ride home. (I just wanted to make sure I was going to be warm.)

Check out my parents' AWESOME Christmas outfit! They went to a Christmas party and someone said Dad looked like Robert Goulee (without the 'stache)! See Mom's belly? Mom and Dad went to the ultrasound last Monday and found out the baby was healthy and quite a busy body (like I was/is) but had the u/s tech write the gender on a piece of paper and we're all going to open the surprise on Christmas Eve.
Murphy turned 6 a couple of weeks ago, so Mom and I baked a cake and made birthday hats. We really don't know Murphy's true birth date, but we say it's December 6th, the day we rescued him. I am lucky to have such a great dog. He's so tolerant of me.
So I'm not suppose to undo the wrapping paper roll and lay around on it? Oh. Okay. Oops. I hope you have a great holiday season with wonderful friends and family around you!

Sofia meets Santa!

We had Brunch with Santa at a restaurant in town and we met with my friends Olivia, Amelie, and Will (their parents came too). There was a woman singing holiday songs with a guitar (or as I call them, "twang, twang, twangs"). The food and pastries were delicious! I enjoyed my first candy cane. They are so good!
Santa asked if I wanted a puppy, but Mom quickly responded with a "No thanks." When he asked what I wanted, I told him that I wanted a "dinosaur puzzle." I hope the ol' guy delivers!
I am quite aware that he will be coming down through our chimney. Mom told me several weeks ago that only men like beer. Well, I figured out that Santa wants a beer so I pulled out a couple of bottles for him and put them aside. "Santa likes beer." So this year, he'll get milk, cookies, with some beer. I'm sure he'll need them!

"Well...maybe some books too?" When we left the restaurant, Santa gave me a high five on the way out. How cool!

Ski Season!

Sunday was Opening Dad at the slopes and we went to the mountain so Dad could snowboard. A friend of mine was skiing and I told Mom that I wanted to ski several times, so I skiied for the first time!

Wheee! I did really well! Mom and Dad looked like complete sillies because they were cheering and hooting the entire time.

The ski instructors said that they hadn't seen such a young skiier in a long time, but I took to it very well, apparently. I kept very good balance and best of all, I had a fun time!
This is what skiing does to a toddler. Mom strapped me in the car seat and by the time Mom got in the car and buckled her seatbelt and looked back (oh, a mere 8 seconds?), I was already asleep. Dad is getting his gear into the back of the car after a good day of snowboarding.

I had a nice snooze on the way home and could have slept longer if Mom didn't wake me up. I look forward to skiing again soon!

The Festive Fontanas

We started our advent calendar yesterday on our banister. Dad and I reached into the first mitten to fish out our treats. A handful of peanut M&Ms! Yum! I became quite fascinated "roli-pops" when I visited Grandma and Grandpa's store in Shelton. I ask for one almost everyday. (Of course I don't get any, but maybe someone will stuff one in one of these mittens/hats/stockings one day!)
Mom and I bake a lot. Here we made our first batch of Christmas cookies and I went a little nuts with the sprinkles. I know I'm not supposed to eat raw cookie dough, but somehow it manages to make their way into my mouth.

More cookies! This is Dad's old Kermit the Frog when he was little. I have taken a strong liking to it. I call him "Doo Wop."

Wouldn't you agree that I'm quite the fashionista? Dad bought this sweater for Mom but I had to put it on. It is so pretty! (It was a joke, but I think it's beautiful.)
