Sofia turns 100 Days Old!

In Korean (and other Asian societies), it is a big milestone in a baby's life when they turn 100 days old. This dates back to historical times when the infant mortality rate was high; if a baby made it to the 100 day mark, it was a sign of good survival. Sofia turned 100 Days on November 1st. It was a last minute idea, but I decided to make some cakes and invite some friends over. We had a great time! (Me with Sofaloaf and Kelly with Milo in the background.)

We take weekly pictures of Sofia with her bunny wabbit and ball and mark the date to see how well Sofia grows! We got this great idea from Doctor J. Thank you, Poppa!

Here is another Barefoot Contessa cake. It's coconut (that's why it looks so hairy). The recipe calls for 5 sticks of butter. Check out her show. You'll see that she does like her butter. On the cake is written "100 Days" in Korean and it is pronounced "bek eel."

Sofia is trying to find a way to eat this cake and is looking around to elicit some help.

Here is Ashley with Sofia and Jay looking on with a Spaten in hand. Miss Ashley is so photogenic...another beautiful smile! Next Saturday, Ashley has the big annual Richmond Marathon Party! In front of our houses, the runners pass by on the 23 mile marker (or so). We saw many tired-looking runners last year, but the jello shots and cheering kept them going!

The children stopped just long enough for a picture. We have Will, Lucy, and Milo. Milo loves Murphy and Murphy loves Milo. It's wonderful.
