Skiing anyone?

Ahhh! It's okay. It's just me, Sofia. Don't be afraid. On top of my funky outfit, I tried on Dada's snowboarding helmet and now I just look like a big insect. Dada and his friend Mr. Lee (from Seattle) and Mr. Robert (from Charleston, SC) came to visit us in Spokane and they went on a snowboarding trip to Nelson, BC Canada for several days.
It sounds like they had a great time! I had a great time hanging out with Mr. Robert (left) and Mr. Lee (right) when they were here. Can you see how happy I am here? :)

I love giving Dada big hugs. I was so glad to have Dada back. Mom and I missed him! Mom is now 7 months pregnant and she seems to waddle a bit but things are moving along smoothly. My little sister is supposed to be born on 5-5-2010. She will be a Cinco de Mayo baby! Ole', I say!

Shovelin' Shit

We had a slight non-cold day with beautiful sunshine this month in Spokane, so Mom put some shoes on me and tossed me and Murphy outside in the backyard and said, "See ya! Have fun!" Well, you know how I have a slight fascination with dog poop? I see Dad shoveling Murphy poop outside and I thought I'd give it a try. What a dream! I had so much fun outside! I can't wait for more warmer weather and sunny skies!

Super Dog to the Rescue!

My favorite show is Kipper and there's an episode where he becomes Super Dog. I brought Mom a kitchen dish towel and asked for it to be tied around my back. I also said that I needed a helmet, but Mom said this hat would do. We threw on the sunglasses for a cool effect. :)
I like to run around the house dressed up like Super Dog and yell, "Super Dog to the Rescue!"

My Christmas

Look what I got for Christmas from Aunty Mia and family. A vacuum! It makes noise and I use it all the time. I've learned that vacuuming is apparently really important around here. While in the middle of play, if I happen to spot some dirt on the ground, I will stop in my tracks and say, "Ding it! I gotta vacuum! Ding it!" (Like Mother like Daughter.)
Merry Christmas! Here's Dad opening a gift. This gift was Dad's Appalachian State fleece blanket from Papa and JoJo!

I got Where the Sidewalk Ends by Shel Silverstein from Mom and Dad. It is such a great book. I read it at night every night. My favorite one is with the guy with his finger all the way up his nose picking away!

Oh, this is the beer that I put out for Santa. Mom says that men like beer, like Dada and our friend/neighbor Mr. Chris. So I realized that since Santa is a male, he must like beer too. I fished this one from the closet and made sure Santa would see it. :)

My friend Charlotte came to visit!

This is my friend Charlotte. She lives in Bend, Oregon but she was on her way to Red Lodge, Montana to see her grandparents and she stopped by for the weekend. Her dad is Big Face Tom and Elise is her mom. Charlotte also brought her two dogs Belle and Tess. They were a lot of fun too!
I was SO excited to see Charlotte! I talked about seeing Charlotte for two weeks straight. I couldn't wait!

Here we are playing in the den. It was so nice to have a friend stay.

We made a gingerbread house. We sampled the candy as we were putting them onto the house.
Now do you see why Mr. Tom is called Big Face Tom? When Mr. Tom told me that they were getting ready to leave in the morning, I lost it and cried. I wanted to go with them, but I am looking forward to seeing them again all soon. Happy Holidays!

December Fun!

Happy Holidays! We have been busy baking, cooking, and enjoying the Winter weather!
At my cooperative preschool, I made a Santa hat that I put on for the ride home. (I just wanted to make sure I was going to be warm.)

Check out my parents' AWESOME Christmas outfit! They went to a Christmas party and someone said Dad looked like Robert Goulee (without the 'stache)! See Mom's belly? Mom and Dad went to the ultrasound last Monday and found out the baby was healthy and quite a busy body (like I was/is) but had the u/s tech write the gender on a piece of paper and we're all going to open the surprise on Christmas Eve.
Murphy turned 6 a couple of weeks ago, so Mom and I baked a cake and made birthday hats. We really don't know Murphy's true birth date, but we say it's December 6th, the day we rescued him. I am lucky to have such a great dog. He's so tolerant of me.
So I'm not suppose to undo the wrapping paper roll and lay around on it? Oh. Okay. Oops. I hope you have a great holiday season with wonderful friends and family around you!

Sofia meets Santa!

We had Brunch with Santa at a restaurant in town and we met with my friends Olivia, Amelie, and Will (their parents came too). There was a woman singing holiday songs with a guitar (or as I call them, "twang, twang, twangs"). The food and pastries were delicious! I enjoyed my first candy cane. They are so good!
Santa asked if I wanted a puppy, but Mom quickly responded with a "No thanks." When he asked what I wanted, I told him that I wanted a "dinosaur puzzle." I hope the ol' guy delivers!
I am quite aware that he will be coming down through our chimney. Mom told me several weeks ago that only men like beer. Well, I figured out that Santa wants a beer so I pulled out a couple of bottles for him and put them aside. "Santa likes beer." So this year, he'll get milk, cookies, with some beer. I'm sure he'll need them!

"Well...maybe some books too?" When we left the restaurant, Santa gave me a high five on the way out. How cool!
